The top decorating trends for 2025
29/12/2024
A busy year is coming to an end, and we are getting ready to welcome a promising new one. We hope that 2025 will bring with it many joys, successes, health, and less unpleasantness. What is certain, however, is that in the new year, the furniture world is ready for some exciting changes: from sustainable materials reaching their peak to the return of bolder designs and bolder patterns.
Whether you're a fan of the vibrant shades of maximalism or enjoy the soft curves of contemporary design, there's something new for everyone and we're ready to consider how we can evolve and renew together through new trends.
Emphasis on sustainability and reuse of materials
Sustainability and reuse of materials are key trends for 2025 as more and more people choose to reduce their environmental footprint through decoration. This includes choosing furniture from recycled materials, and using decorations from sustainable sources, as well as natural dyes and plant materials.
In addition, converting old objects into decorative elements adds uniqueness to the space and is a modern hobby for many. From vintage furniture and wooden pallets to glass containers that become candlesticks, sustainable choices enhance creativity and originality and give a new dimension to aesthetics.

Furniture design as such is no longer the sole focus of many designers but coexists with sustainability and possibly defines the object of their design.

Caroline Zimbalist's vessels, made of bioplastic, starch, and agar powder are part of her works promoting design through plant materials.
Back to nature - In/out concepts
Biophilic design and plants remain key elements in the decor, creating a warm atmosphere and enhancing the connection with nature. In 2025, indoor plants will stand out for their elegant appearance and simplicity of care, making them ideal for home decoration. If you don't have time to care, look for artificial plants of good quality and high aesthetics that look like real ones. Combine with beautiful pots and complete with a lamp or rug that gives the style of living in nature.

Earthy colors, pastel tones & natural materials
No doubt, earthy and natural tones in colors have been proven to calm the spirit and not tire our visual field. Pantone proposes mocha mousse brown as the color of 2025, which was criticized at first, but with a deep narrowing one can say that it is an easy-to-combine color with a very chic character.

- Minimal disposition in various contexts
A space with a minimal mood with an emphasis on functionality is designed to be simple, clean, and practical, without unnecessary decorative elements. This breeze dominates the furniture of the 25th century and the spaces that have only useful objects, that serve us and facilitate our daily life are promoted. Whether you are a fan of Scandinavian or Bohemian Minimalism, the culture of simplicity is getting stronger in 2025. Use colors like white, beige, and off-white and enhance with colors of nature. The result will be relaxing and you will be in the mood of the year!

- Curves Everywhere
Dynamically continuing the '24 style we see the curve dominating at all levels. Curved sofas with a bold style, curvilinear coffee tables, not only round, but in various shapes, carefully sloppy walls with embossed textures, and bubble-shaped chairs. A trend that starts from retro and goes to wabi-sabi!

- Intro to Wabi-Sabi Living
This is the new trend that came to stir the waters after the rigor and the frozen - perhaps - mood of the absolute Scandinavian design that dominated the past decade. Welcome to Wabi-Sabi Living Culture!

Originating from tea ceremonies in 16th-century Japan, Wabi Sabi is a worldview that emphasizes simplicity, natural materials, and the beauty of imperfection. Wabi Sabi was popularized by the tea master Sen no Rikyu, who believed that the essence of the tea ceremony was not in the tea itself, but in the atmosphere created by the tea room and the objects within it.

Are you ready to welcome a world...that is not quite 'as it should be'? Is this trend a message for our everyday life itself? Sleep on it...Maybe it is...!
- Fabrics with textures & patterns with retro influences
The fabrics that dress the spaces of 2025 are characterized by retro influences with heavy, rich textures such as corduroy, striped velvet, and herringbone but also abstract shapes, geometric patterns, nature, and bright colors with a vintage aesthetic inspired by the 50s-70s. They are easily applied through cushions, curtains, or wallpaper and make any piece of furniture even more rich and stately.

Combine interesting fabrics with neutral furniture for balance or add a vintage armchair for a more authentic style. If you don't want to spend a lot of money changing your whole sofa, but you just want to adopt this style, in addition to decorative cushions, you can simply change the upholstery of your sofa. The fabrics alone make a big difference!
- Smart Home Systems - Technology Everywhere
Making your home "smart" means equipping it with technologies that enable automation, remote control, and improved efficiency. This can include devices and systems that are connected over the Internet, creating what is called the "Internet of Things" (IoT).
For better or worse, we live in the age of technology and this approach to everyday life is no longer a trend... but has turned into... a necessity... So technology cannot be left out of our list for 2025!

A typical example of a "smart" space is lighting. You can place lamps that are controlled via an app or voice commands, but also program the lights to turn on and off automatically even if you don't have such a 'smart home'!
All of the above are suggestions and you can adopt as many as you want or think suit your taste! However, with the right combination, you can transform your home or office into a modern, sustainable, and functional haven.
Don't forget to think about how your own decisions affect future generations and most importantly... Create spaces that express your personal style and needs! Not only because it's a Trend!
Happy New Year with Health and Mood to Create!
